Is Jesus the way is a really good question.
There are a lot of religions in the world and you will find that most of them do not believe in the same Jesus as we do and they also believe in a different way to get to heaven. So who is right?
Lets first do some comparisons and then we'll answer that question.
Mormons
Jesus is a spirit child of God, which would mean he was created. He reached God like status thru obedience before being incarnated. He is one of many Gods. You go to heaven by becoming perfect. You receive salvation by what you do.
Jehovah's witness
Jesus is Michael the archangel and became the Messiah at baptism. Jesus is a man. Jesus was not bodily raised from the dead. You have to work your way to heaven. Only 144000 actually go there, the rest will be on earth, which will be paradise.
Christian Science
Jesus is human and Christ is the divine idea. He had this dual personality till his ascension. He still takes away sin, but he was not bodily resurrected.
Eastern Mysticism
The real nature of humans is divine. We have the capacity for infinite evolution. Jesus is considered one of many "Masters" who realized his divinity, just like Buddha. In other words we save ourselves.
As you have seen above, many people do not believe the same as we do and these are just four of many religions. But before I get into what we believe I want to touch on why we believe it. If the source the information comes from is not reliable you are in trouble.
We believe our source is 100% accurate. Lets establish why. We believe the Bible is the word of God. We believe it was written by men under the instruction of the Holy Spirit. We believe that it is 100% true. Why do we believe this?
Without getting really deep into this I am going to list some of the main reasons.
1. Much of what is in the Bible , is backed up by non-christian historians.
2. There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000 Manuscripts available that back up a lot of what is in the Bible.
3. There are many prophecies through out the Bible that have been fullfilled, that attest to its accuracy.
4. There are 66 books in the Bible, written over a span of several thousand years, written by individuals from all different walks of life, that had no way of knowing each other. Yet everything in it fits together perfectly. This is not humanly possible.
5. There are geological finds that back up parts of the Bible.
6. If you choose to believe in Jesus, he promises to reveal himself to you.
These are just six points as to why we believe the Bible is true and there are many more. This is not something I can talk you into believing. But if you have doubt, research it with an open mind and I guarantee that you will be convinced it is the truth. You will not be convinced if you do not have an open mind. So now that we have established that our source for what we believe is true, what do we believe?
Christianity:
We believe that Jesus is God. We believe he has always existed. We believe he is the creator of everything.
JN 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
We believe he bodily resurrected and then went to heaven. This is what paid for our sins and gives us access to heaven.
1CO 15:3 …… that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
We believe Jesus is the only way to heaven.
JN 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Conclusion:
According to the scriptures above, Jesus is the only answer. I hope you take the time to study this, so you will come to the realization that it is the truth. The Holy Spirit will draw you and you will have to make a choice that will change your life.
I guarantee you will never regret this choice, I know I don't. You may not totally understand everything right away, but as you study you will learn to understand more and more. One key to this is to ask questions of people that already believe to help you understand.
