You hear from a lot of people that as long as you believe in God everything is okay.
What does the bible say?
Paul wrote to the church of Galatia:
GAL 1:1 Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- 2 and all the brothers with me,
If you don't know Paul: He persecuted the church until had an encounter with Jesus. It totally changed him and he ended up writing a big part of the NT.
Here is what Jesus said about him:
AC 9:15 …….. "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.
I think this should give him some credibility.
Back to our text:
GAL 1:3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
He greets them and reminds them of what Jesus did for them: In other words: Here is what Jesus did and why.
Then he goes on:
GAL 1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
Here was a new church that in no time at all started listening to misdirection.
Paul says: Don't even listen to an angel should he say something different.
So how do you know if you can trust what a spirit (angel) says:
1JN 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
So what did this passage say?
If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
These are very strong words.
So what about all religions that teach something different.
Here is what Jesus said:
JN 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
I think that is pretty plain. There is no other way.
Please check it out for yourself and make your own decision. Don't end up being left out in the cold.
