Dear new Believer
Now that you have made the most important decision of your life, we would like to see you take the time to read this page. It will help take some of the confusion out of the next few weeks.

First: Confess

"If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

You have already done this. At this time the Holy Spirit came into your heart, to help you with your Christian walk.

Second: Repent

"The time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news." Mark 1:15

To repent means you turn away from sin and focus your mind on God. It does not mean that you are now perfect. It means you are with the help of Jesus, doing the best you can.

Third: Be baptized

"Jesus instructed his disciples: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, …" Matthew 28:19. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, …" Mark 16:16

Being baptized is one of the first acts of obedience. Jesus wants us to be baptized as an outward sign of our old self being put to death and our new self being raised to a new life with him.

Fourth: Trust

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22

God always answers prayers, but he may not always answer them the way we want. It is like when a kid asks his Mom or Dad for something, if it is not good for the kid they may have to say no.

This includes helping us overcome weaknesses and sin that may still be in our life. Thanks to Jesus paying the price for our sin, God is able to continue to forgive us, even though we do not deserve it.

Fifth: Learn

You learn by:

A) Staying in prayer
B) Reading the Bible
C) Be with people of like mind. This will happen by finding a church home

Ask God which church is right for you and he will show you. If you would like help in this area, feel free to contact us. It is extremely hard to be a Christian without having Christian friends.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2nd Corinthians 12:9

Here are a few basic things to remember and help you:

Jesus knows those who…

Know and accept him (are saved) John 3:16
Know they have been forgiven 1st John 2:12
Hunger to know God Matthew 4:4
Reflect his light in the world Matthew 5:14-16
Do the will of the father Matthew 7:21

Remember…
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ
God's hand is in all things
Be thankful for everything
Love everyone as you would yourself
Trust God with all
Let humility guide you
The true God gave us all: His son Jesus Christ!
A false god pulls us away from the real God

These are the two most important commandments:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39
If you put these two commandments in your heart and live by them, you will never go wrong.

Remember…
"A good tree can not bear bad fruit, and a bad tree can not bear good fruit." Matthew 7:18

Good fruits are…                Evidence might be…
Love                                   Charity
Joy                                     Gladness
Peace                                 Calm
Longsuffering                     Not hasty to judge others
Gentleness                         Understanding
Goodness                          Kind
Faith                                  Reliance
Meekness                          Humble
Temperance                      Self control
